    What’s wrong with that?

  2. Show me a photo of Tammy Baldwin romantically kissing Sir Elton John and I will say nothing is wrong with it. I take that back, there is still something wrong with it when done for a wrong reason.

It is meant for shock value. Batman is a classic heterosexual icon. (I always had my suspicions about Robin. :) )

In the meantime, lighten up. If someone wants to shock, then I have permission to joke.

Lol, funny stuff. All that brooding bravado had to be covering something up, eh?

  4. That is some funny stuff, not sure how I missed it.

I know Batman personally. He is a VERY morose and gloomy fellow and not in the least bit gay.

I think that this is very disrespctful to Batman. He is not gay! I hate this picture, it insults me and Batman himself. Please remove this picture from the internet and destroy it.

Just Batman? What about the poor maligned Robin?? Hm?

:D . I copied the pic. So if you can convince the THOUSANDS of others who I am sure are posting the pic somewhere, then I’ll consider it. Nawwwww….. who am I kidding–it’s getting a lot of hits.

Personally, I think Batman should sue. Do they have civil courts in Comic Book Land? Inquiring minds want to know.

That’s hilarious!!! I was looking up pics to use for a school project(and yes my project does include superheroes), and i just happened to stumble upon this one. Haha. I don’t think my teacher would be very pleased if i used this pic though. Sorry, otherwise i’d totally use it. Don’t EVER take it down coz it shows how you always think you know someone and then…BAM!! something like this happens. It’s a total comic book cliche, and it’s BRILLIANT!!

    • Gryphon said

Unless your school is a private school with a very conservative Christian base, I think your teacher would not only NOT be displeased but would probably be very pleased. Don’t ya know? It’s chic to be gay.

      • Forever Last said

True, but i don’t think it would fit in with the story. The project is supposed to be turning Great Expectations from a boring-why-do-I-have-to-read-this? book, into a children book. The characters i’m substituting with Batman and Robin would hopefully NEVER get together (you never know). Actually i could use it coz i’m starting to think Pip (the main character, if you haven’t been subjected to the torture of reading GREAT EXPECTATIONS) acts so much like a girl, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was gay.

English fops were some of the best in-the-closet” gays there ever were. They got to dress and act feminine and still claim to be masculine. In the Victorian age when homosexuality was DEFINITELY a no-no, it was the most extreme you could go.

Flash forward to the U.S. circa 1960-65, pianist Liberace was so obviously gay but nobody would ever admit it in public.

this isn’t a symbol of homosexuality it’s quite straight, due to the fact Robin is a in the closet trapped with the fact Robin is a female, if anything she too young too be kissing the good old dark knight! wake up it’s facts that we should look at not the fact that we all are trying to blame whoever for a kiss, it’s a kiss and it just a kiss, come on geek a little and you’ll find out the truth too!

Robin (Dick, Jason, or Tim) is like a son to Batman.
So this is a very sick idea from people who don’t care about the characters and don’t read their comics.

I grew up in the 60s reading DC comics Superman and Batman. I idolized superman and it was followed closely by the Dark Knight. Fortunately, I also had a grasp of reality and developed a social conscience, sense of humor, and sense of irony.

Batman is a comic book character dude. Not the Pope. And even the Pope is susceptible to caricature and lampoon. Please check out the definitions for both caricature and lampoon.

This is a commentary on pop culture heroic icons and homosexual consciousness within that milieu. No one is trying to pop your fantasy bubble. But perhaps if you can open your mind just a tad you will see the commentary implicit in the image.

That is too funny!Look, I’ve been a fan of Bats ever since I was in diapers like many of you and I can see the humor in this. Getting offended by this is a sad insight to lack of humor and maturity. The jokes have been floating around forever it seems like (SNL’s Ambiguously Gay Duo)

I believe that is just disgusting…I’ve never favored batman because I believe superman is the best but even though i wouldn’t like the fact that people are going around and posting gross pictures. children will think its fine to do that because their favored heroes are doing that.

hahaha well I think it’s an awesome picture. People are being a bit too touchy about it. It fits in rather well with an inside joke between me and a friend, so I’ll have to show him this too.

Anyway, I got a good laugh out of it. So thank you!

  28. Where did Batman and Robin go?

  29. Okay I figured out how to turn them back on. I did this at least a month ago and forgot that I did it. Your blog makes more sense now that I can see the pictures added to your blog. :)

This is so not cool. Plus when Robin saw this he ran up to his room and started to cry. Then when Batman saw this discusting pic he actully showed it to Commissioner Gordon he was discusted. One week later we were called to duty. But Robin didn’t go. He was two dispress about it. He didn’t even talk or went near Batman for two weeks. You have not pleased us.

Yours not truely Batgirl from Gottem City.
    P.S seed your repliy.

  31. Batgirl said

Sorry. I said please noterfy me and sorry I upset you. But it’s just todaly not cool.

  32. Batgirl said

Robin is talking and fighting crim again but he still won’t go near Batman. I’ll talk to him. By the way Alfred was also not pleased with it. Happy trails! I just can’t get over it. And that’s a bad thing.

When u think of cartoons the 1st thing that comes to mind is children n our childhood to most of us our childhood brings us bad memories let’s not shock adults by using cartoons becuz eventually it will ruin a childs good memory and I know we don’t want to become THEM we are better, smarter, n we have bigger hearts ;-)

    • Gryphon said

I don’t think that to most of us our childhood brings “bad memories” as a majority of the memory. Certainly there are bad memories to be had and some of us have had happier childhoods than others. But it is unfair to characterize “most of us” as having a majority of bad memories.

      That said, What?

How does shocking adults ruin a child’s good memories? certainly you are not suggesting that we age backwards….. that is the only way that that statement makes sense…common or any other kind. It does however make nonsense.

Finally, you suggest that we don’t want to “become them. Once again, not possible. Biologically inconceivable. We are smarter, better, and have bigger hearts than children??

You call yourself “Common Sense.” Frankly, I don’t see it. Are you trying to make some comment on homosexuality and just failing?
